Argentina is situated at the southern tip of The Americas.
Its geographical location provides excellent soil for the growing
of vine.
It is a stripe of land on the west, running along the
Andes, between 22º and approximately 40º south latitude.
It comprises the whole of the warm climate zone.
The geographical amplitude, together with some ecological
characteristics of the numerous mountain-locked valleys gives way
to well defined wine growing regions.
Such diversity in climate and geographic condition s
allow the growing of all varieties of grapes in the most appropriate
soil for each kind, according to its oenological characteristics.
Altitude in most vine-growing areas ranges between 500
and 1,500 m above sea level.

· The Andes and Mendoza The
Andes mountain range exerts a decisive influence on the country´s
climate and, especially, on its grape-growing area. In general,
this region has a continental, semi-desertic climate. Winters are
dry, warm or cold-warm, with an annual rainfall ranging from 100
to 300 mm in the summer.
Fairly low humidity and little rainfall are excellent
conditions which account for the good quality and health of its
grapes.
Argentine grapes are mostly natural and free from pesticide
residue as required by the most demanding consumers around the world.
The number of sunny days at the right temperature account
for the perfect completion of the vine cycle, thus providing fruit
at the perfect point of ripeness and of the highest quality.
Mendoza –called “the land of sunshine and
good wine”, is the main wine producing region in Argentina.
The province´s vineyards are scattered in oasis formed by
mountain rivers, which water the grapevines.
It is in this gifted area where Jaure Winery produces
its wine.
